Rock-It Global's Sasha Goodman Given Lifetime Achievement Award by the Airforwarders Association
The accolade recognizes Goodman’s 12-year service on the AfA Board and her championing of women in air cargo.
Nashville, Tennessee, USA, Tuesday 14th February 2023: Sasha Goodman, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Rock-it Global, received the Airforwarders Association (AfA) Jim Foster Lifetime Achievement award at the AirCargo 2023 event in Nashville, Tennessee, yesterday (Monday 13th February 2023).
The award recognizes her career in air cargo as well as her 12 years of service on the AfA Board of Directors, and her championing of women in air cargo.
Goodman has spent over 25 years at Rock-it, starting as Vice President Sales and being appointed CAO in 2020.
She is an advocate for gender diversity in the air cargo industry and chaired a panel at the AirCargo event, focused on supporting the professional development of women in company structures.
“I spent 12 years on the Board of AfA and have been blessed with meeting the most extraordinary people,” said Goodman.
“I am going to continue championing women in the industry through AfA, and I will continue to be part of the AfA planning committee.
Goodman’s time on the AfA board termed out at the end of 2022, but she has remained an active AfA member, continuing to take a leading role in its Annual General Meeting planning committee.
“Sasha is a highly regarded, and long-serving representative in the industry, and it was our absolute honour to present her with the much-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award,” Brandon Fried, Executive Director, Airforwarders Association.
“We look forward to many more years of her service to the air cargo world.”
She was joined on a panel at the AfA AirCargo 2023 Women’s Networking Event by Sandy Gregory, Senior Director, Air Strategy and Compliance, Maergo.
“Women need to be supported in this industry and people in authority need to do everything they can to help women drive the industry forward,” said Gregory.
Panelists told women at the event that it was vital to play to personal strengths, become corporately aware, and believe that you belong in the boardroom.
There was also a strong call for more mentors to help women to rise up the corporate ladder.
“Know yourself, know your brand and worth, and understand that you need to be confident,” said Goodman.
“Don’t fall into the trap of not knowing what you want to be and articulate it in a calm manner.”
Other winners of the AfA AirCargo 2023 Awards included: International Airline of the Year awarded to Lufthansa Cargo; Vendor of the Year awarded to 7L freight; Surface Carrier of the Year awarded to Sterling Transportation; and Domestic Carrier of the Year awarded to Southwest Cargo.
